Canter house before remodeling 2Entry/Object ID
2014.009.0052Description
One 3 1/2"h x 4 7/8"w black and white photo of the Canter House before remodeling. The house had a low picket fence around it. It was a large two and a half story house, with white, possibly asbestos, shingles. It had a gable standing seam roof with two inside end chimneys and two large dormers were barely visible in this view. A large open porch ran along part of this elevation; half of this view of the house was largely obscured by trees. There was one window in the dormer, a six over six double hung sash. There were like windows in the gable end around the corner. There were two two over two windows on the second floor. The gable end had a two story bay window near the corner and at least one other window on the second floor. The porch roof was hipped and standing seam. It was three bays long. There were two visible windows with dark shutters on the first floor and a window without shutters in the bay window space.. It is not possible to see the configuration of the first floor of the gable end.
