This is an almanac for 1872, titled The Catholic Family Almanac. It has a blue, red, and black paper cover with a Holy Cross inside a "frame" with representations of each of the four seasons in circles around the four legs of the cross. There is a red printed banners and flowers decoration around the "frame." The back cover has an ad for Seton Hall College and for John Murphy & Co. booksellers in Baltimore.
There are the usual almanac contents of weather, postage rates, moon data, etc., but beyond that there are lists of saints and saints' days, small biographies of Catholic luminaries in this country and abroad, descriptions of world locations important to the church, rules for observing special days, etc. The booklet is heavily illustrated.Collection
