Cedar Point Lighthouse. Color print. View is from the air, probably looking northwest. I believe this is the west side of the house. Large two-tone two? story home with a gable roof and the light on north side of the roof. A chimney is visible two-thirds of the way up the roof on the opposite side from the light. On the second floor are two double windows on the visible gable end. Below is a three bay porch with pillars, a railing all around and a leanto roof. There are two windows barely visible on the first floor. The space under the porch is enclosed. The house is in a derelict condition, sitting on a pentagonal concrete pad. On the right is a pile of concrete and bricks, but all the outbuildings are gone. On the far side of the house roof is a large square structure. On top of it is a square platform with a metal? fence to provide a railing. Above that is an eight-sided windowed structure capped by a circular roof with a ball on top, just like the Blakiston Light. The shoreline has a rock revetment. There is a little sand on the pad, but no vegetation. There is the remains of a wooden pier projecting into the water on the near side of the house. It is all very stark and sad.Collection
