Cedar Point Lighthouse. Color print. View is from the air, probably looking northeast. I believe this is the west side of the house. Large two-tone two story home with a gable roof and the light on north side of the roof. On the second floor are two double windows visible on the gable end. Below is a three bay porch with pillars and a leanto roof. The space under the porch is enclosed. On the near side of the house roof is a large square structure. On top of it is a square platform with one window visible on the left face and a metal? fence to provide a railing. Above that is an eight-sided structure capped by a circular roof with a ball on top, just like the Blakiston Light. The house is in a derelict condition, sitting on a pentagonal concrete pad. On the right is a small pile of concrete and bricks, but all the outbuildings are gone. Rocks barely define the edges of the space. There is the remains of a wooden pier projecting into the water on the near side of the house with additional revetment meant to be a breakwater for the pier. It is all very stark and sad. This is a print of slide #4 described at 2003.003.0008.Collection
