Cedar Point Lighthouse. Color print. View is from the water, looking south. This is the north side of the house. Two and a half story home with a gable roof and the light on one side of the roof. No chimney is visible. The exterior is brick from the water line to the second floor; thereafter it is cedar shingles. On the visible gable end is a three bay porch with pillars, one of which is missing, and a leanto roof. There is one window opening with a light colored sill visible on the first floor and another window opening that is probably on the stairway. The space under the porch is bricked in, but there is a dark vertical opening? post? on the near end. There are two small windows with light colored sills on the first level. There is also a large sign on the building between those windows advising boaters to stay clear. On the near side of the house roof is a large square structure with one visible window. On top of it is a square platform with a metal fence to provide a railing. Above that is an eight-sided structure capped by a circular roof with a ball on top, just like the Blakiston Light. There are chunks of brick and concrete behind a low rock breakwater much decorated with birds. The house is in derelict condition and very stark. This is a print of slide #2 described at 2003.003.0006.Collection
