Description

This map moved to SMCHS Research Library 06/25/2026. Cataloged as MAP 246. 1 sheet ; 10 3/4" x 15 1/2" Photocopy of a portion of a Coast and Geodetic Survey map that included Cedar Point. The real title of the map is not there. The image covers from Cove Point in Calvert County to just south of Cedar Point, probably not even as far as Hermanville Road. Hopewell, near Town Creek, Millstone, and Jarboesville are identified. There are two tiny marks at road intersections south and east of Millstone, one of which is Saint Nicholas Church. Barren Island and Tar Bay on the eastern shore are on the right edge of the sheet. You can tell from the contour lines why the Navy wanted this large, nearly level, space.
