Black and white 9 1/2"h x 7 1/2"w photo of Cedar Point Methodist Church, Pearson. A few gravestones were visible on the left side of the building. This was a simple clapboard building. It had a gable roof and a pyramid roof on the steeple. A small foyer, also with a gable roof, supported the square belfry with medium sized openings on each side. There may have been a bell, but it is not visible. The foyer had a double wooden door three steps above the ground with a fanlight above and there was a small one over one window in the gable end. There appears to have been one window on each side of the foyer. There were three windows on each side of the church; the visible windows had the shutters pulled closed. There were many large trees around the building. Even though the photo was copied in 1953, it was probably taken much earlier, judging by the clothing of the lone man in the picture, and because the church was replaced when the land was taken for the Patuxent River Naval Air Station in early 1942.
