This is a photograph of Cedar Point Methodist Episcopal Church. It was in a grove of trees. It was a simple clapboard rectangular structure with a gable roof, an entry wing, and a bell tower. This photo shows the front and one side of the church. The gable roof appeared to have dark shingles. The tower was centered on the gable end of the building and rose out of the roof of the entry wing. The wing appeared to be newer than the rest of the building. It, too, had a gable roof. The bell tower was clapboard with an opening on each side. The tree branches obscured a view of a bell. The roof of the tower was pyramid in style and surmounted by a cross. The entry wing was not as tall as the sanctuary. It had a small two light window near the peak of the roof. The double entry door was capped by a demi-lune window with a spider-web effect in the glass. Two concrete or stone steps went to the ground. On the side of the entry was a single window, barely visible behind a tree. There were three tall windows on the side of the sanctuary. In the photo, a man was walking across the lawn in front of the building. Mr. Fenwick said the building was torn down when Patuxent River Naval Air Station was built in the early 1940s.
