Description

5"h x 3 1/2"w black and white photo of what was probably a Boy Scout troop cleaning and resetting stones in the St. Paul's Methodist Church cemetery on Maryland Route 5 in Leonardtown. A man and five boys, one of whom was named Jesse, were leaning on a large Foxwell monument that returned the favor by leaning right back. The group had already begun digging around the base of the monument to pull it upright. No expense was spared on the monument; there was elaborate carving at the top of the obelisk and the whole was topped by a large urn. ************************************** Text on verso: none
