One 4 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w sepia tone photo of the Chappelear Mill. This mill was on the stream created by Ye Coole Springs in Charlotte Hall. The photographer was standing in a field below the mill building. It was not too large, a simple gable roofed building with clapboard siding. The third clapboard down on the gable end was hanging by one nail. Farther down there was a single off-center narrow window. There was probably a door on ground level, although it is difficult to tell. There was an elevated ramp, or possibly the mill race in the center of the photo. It led from a small hill over a flat waste space to some sort of opening in the gable end. Two women were standing at the corner of the building and another was sitting on the railing with her legs dangling over the abyss. Yet another woman was standing in the weeds under the structure. A large tree obscures much of the building.
