Dark navy plain cardboard cover book 10 1/2"h x 7 1/2" w with dark blue tape spine. There was a red border around a white label 1 ¾”h x 4 1/8”w with purple stamp “County Trust Company of Maryland Leonardtown, MD. The book was used from February 10, 1951—April 23, 1951. Handwritten in upper right corner "#12," handwritten “Charge Back from” stamp for Feb 10 1951, handwritten “To” with purple stamp for Apr 23 1951. In the book were the carbons for notices of returned checks—three carbons per page. On the left side of each notice were fifteen choices for why the check was returned; insufficient funds being the most frequent reason. In a box toward the right was space for the account number on the offending check, the person who wrote it, and the amount. At the bottom of the form were three lines for naming the person or entity that would not be getting the money they expected. There were thirty-three sheets in the book. Everything was entered by hand.
