Description
Hope held onto this newsletter from the Charles County Community College Alumni Association due to a section on "Friendship House". The house itself had originally been built in 1680 at Nanjemoy Creek. Capt. Nicholas Guyther had been the one to survey the land and later sold it to Judge Thomas Dent who built "Friendship House". By 1968 the owner at the time wanted to burn the house down but the Charles County Historical Society stepped in and dissembled it instead. It was later reconstructed on the campus of Charles County Community College in 1978 and was made into a museum.
