Scope and Content

1 page ; 14 7/8"h x 9 1/2"w This will was presented to Mr. Fenwick by Meredith Capper. The documents were found in an old house on Capper land. The house has since been torn down. Mr. Fenwick's note says Amanda Floyd Dunbar later married David Tyler, so perhaps the Dunbars were associated with this land and house. John Bullock, Sr. made his will on November 27, 1700. From the document, it appears he had six children. A wife was not mentioned. He left his son John the unnamed tract of land the elder Bullock currently lived on. He was at pains to pass on another tract of land called Hopewell. He appointed his daughter Elizabeth guardian of his young son William. The will was signed in the presence of Richard Chapill, Benjamin R. Reder and Richard R. Reder. On April 23, 1705, the two Reders came to swear they had witnessed the will. There are three sheets with the document that are an attempt to transcribe the will into larger type.
