Scope and Content

1 vol. ; 11 1/2" x 9 3/4" x 3/4" This album was a black faux leather binder with black stitching around all the outside edges. There was no printing or decoration on the covers. Cover P. 2 had a partial pocket and Cover P. 3 had a full pocket. There were no materials in either pocket. On the lower inside corner of Cover P.3 was "Ful-Vu 33-B11 Camden, N.J." The spiral rings were one half inch in diameter, but pages could neither be added or removed. Heavy black and buff pages were included for a total of 19 sheets. Most of the contents were about the Fenwick family. The binder was not retained, but the contents were photocopied because of their perilous condition. There was a history of the Fenwicks who became members of the Society of Jesus provided by Fr. Devitt, S.J. of Georgetown University. There is a photocopy of a miniature of Charlotte Fenwick of South Carolina. There is a typed copy of the Ballat of Reid-Squair, fought on the 7th of July, 1576, and a hand-written copy with more modern language and orthography. "Fennicks" are mentioned in this poem. One page has a discussion of the Spalding escutcheon and an obituary for Bishop Spalding. There are two letters from a Francis L. Fenwick to a Mary Fenwick trying to disentangle the Fenwick lines. Mr. Fenwick's father's and aunt's obituaries were copied and the wedding of a brother described. There is a letter to J. Allan Coad from a New Jersey Fenwick and a short list of Greenwell relations. The list of delinquent taxpayers of the county in 1822 is also in this album. There followed a plastic bag of unidentified writings of a philosophical bent.
