Scope and Content
1 piece ; 13 3/8" h x 16 3/8"w
John R. Plater Junior and his wife, Charlotte Matilda Plater, sold eighteen acres of land that was part of the larger tract called Nun's Oak, to Cornelius Manning. Manning had sold the tract to Plater in 1819, but was now buying it back for $720. Plater agrees to do whatever is necessary to help Manning if the title is challenged, just as Manning had agreed to do when he sold the tract to Plater. The courses for the acreage are not included in this document, but it is still two and one-half pages long. There is a photocopy and an attempt at a transcription in the folder.
