Name/Title

Charles E. Fenwick Collection--Manning papers--Draft of agreement between William and Monica Fenwick and Frances Hill--1806

Entry/Object ID

1995.001.1539

Scope and Content

1 page ; 12 5/8"h x 15 3/4" w The document was folded once vertically and then into four panels. At the head of the document it says, "Copy." The Fenwicks and Mrs. Hill agreed to a division of lands they formerly held in common. There was a possible cloud on the title, so each party agreed to hold each other harmless and basically to revisit the surveys if necessary to equitably divide whatever land would be left. There are many, many cross-outs and words above and below the line in this document and it is sloppily written. [The archivist believes this is a draft of the document in 1995.001.1538] There is a photocopy and an attempt at a transcription included in the folder.
