Scope and Content

1 sheet ; 12" h x 7 3/16" w Monica Queen made her will in late November and died by the end of that month. She left her daughter, Ann Hill, just five shillings, but did leave a third of her estate to Ann's son Henry upon his majority. The other two thirds went to Monica's sisters Ann and Mary Boarman. She made a generous donation to the poor. The will was witnessed by John Smith and Basil B. Smith and recorded on December 1, 1772 by J. A. Thomas. It was copied by Jeremiah Jordan twenty years later because it had some bearing on the Manning case. The public seal is complete on the document, which is unusual. There is a photocopy and an attempt at a transcription in the folder.
