Name/Title

Charles E. Fenwick Collection--Manning papers--Multiple depositions--1770

Entry/Object ID

1995.001.1524

Scope and Content

1 leaf ; 12"h x 7 9/16"w Depositions of one small paragraph each from Stephen Chilton, an illegible name, Ignatius Jarboe, John Smith, George Greenwell, and William Williams. George Howard and an unknown Payne were also to be deposed, but they were not there. Most of the deponents talked about Cornelius Manning's marriage to Elizabeth Danzey to protect his title to land that rightfully belonged to Elizabeth. An attempt at a transcription is in the folder, but the handwriting on the original was very difficult, so the transcription has many question marks. There is a photocopy included as well.
