This small piece of paper was further folded in half horizontally. "Receipt of Winnafard Spalding" is on the outside panel.
Frances Hagen left a legacy to Winnafard [Winifred?] Spalding. She received part payment of fifteen pounds, eleven shillings from Cornelius Manning in February 1808. She made her mark on the receipt. On the verso of receipt is some figuring, but it may not have anything to do with the text of the receipt. There is a photocopy and an attempt at a transcription included in the folder.
