Scope and Content

3 pieces ; 14 1/8"h x 9 1/2"w This photostat is of Liber S, folio 218-220. There first is a writ issued on behalf of Thomas Cornwalleys that somehow has to do with a Francis Yardley of Charles County. The real reason Mr. Fenwick ordered the copy was the pre-nuptial agreement of Cuthbert and Jane Fenwick, Cuthbert Fenwick's 1654 will, and a power of attorney executed in 1649. Cuthbert Fenwick must have held Jane in high esteem because he promised her the equivalent of the 17th century moon in 1649--three servants, six cows, heifers, and horses, plus half the household goods. The couple went on to have five sons by the time he drew up his 1654 will. An attempt at a transcription is included with the pieces.
