Entry/Object ID

Scope and Content

1 piece ; 16 5/8"h x 11 1/16"w This photostat is of Liber PC#1, folio 192. This short will is in the middle of the folio. Mr. Fenwick felt he was healthy, but was planning ahead. His five sons, Richard, Cuthbert, John, Enoch, and Ignatius were to share equally in his estate, regardless whether they were sons of the first or second wife. [Both wives must have been dead, since neither is mentioned in the will.] If any of the sons died before the age of majority, the remaining sons were to share equally again. If there were discord about dividing the property, John Fenwick was to make the final decision. Joseph Alvey and Cuthbert Sewall witnessed the will. George Plowden is not on the list of witnesses, but he appeared before the Commissioner to prove the will. An attempt at a transcription is included with the piece.
