This album was a black faux leather binder with indentations on each cover 1/16" and 3/4" from the outside edge. Cover P. 2 identifies the album as made by Boorums &Pease Co. Standard no. 8112. Posts and screws held pages of white typing style paper of heavier than usual weight. A series of newspaper clippings were attached to fifty-one numbered pages. Most of the material is a series of articles on St. Mary's County by Aloysius F. King and Grif Alexander, published in the St. Mary's Beacon during the year of 1955. Many of the illustrations were photographs taken by Mr. Fenwick. The original was not retained. Pages one through eleven focussed on the St. Mary's City area of the county. Pages twelve through seventeen talked about religious toleration and included several pictures of local churches. Pages eighteen through twenty-three emphasized Leonardtown. Pages twenty-five to thirty-four focussed on manor houses. Pages thirty-five to thirty-eight contain pictures of smaller houses. Pages thirty-nine to forty-four recounted old county stories, followed by a two page article on Captain Claiborne, with many more old stories told through page sixty-three. Pages sixty-four to sixty-eight contain short articles about individual houses. Beginning with page sixty-nine, history via old stories is featured again. The final three pages are devoted to an article about Harry M. Jones, long-time member of the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Dept.Collection
