Scope and Content

1 page ; 9 5/8"h x 8"w This is one of 25 individual pieces found in the courthouse trash by G. Frank Wathen and given by him to J. Allan Coad, who subsequently gave them to Mr. Fenwick. The archivist found the documents folded and bundled together at the bottom of a carton that was part of Mr. Fenwick's collection; some of the pieces are so frail, it is a miracle they survived. This sheet was torn from another. This is a series of five questions to be asked of witnesses in the ejectment case. Each witness was to be asked if they knew any of the children of Samuel DeButts, whether any of them were dead, whether the DeButts had any children of their own, and similar questions about the Carters. J.M.S. Causin and Benjamin G. Harris signed the sheet.
