This is one of 25 individual pieces found in the courthouse trash by G. Frank Wathen and given by him to J. Allan Coad, who subsequently gave them to Mr. Fenwick. The archivist found the documents folded and bundled together at the bottom of a carton that was part of Mr. Fenwick's collection; some of the pieces are so frail, it is a miracle they survived.
This blue sheet records the court's judgment in favor of Geo. C. Morgan & Joseph S. Ford, administrators of John B. Hayden's estate against Mary J. Fowler & George H. Morgan for a little more than $86.00. There is no mention of the reason for the debt, but it might be for hire of a laborer. This was filed as Exhibit C on March 21, 1861.
