Scope and Content

1 sheet ; 11 7/8"h x 7 5/16"w This is one of 25 individual pieces found in the courthouse trash by G. Frank Wathen and given by him to J. Allan Coad, who subsequently gave them to Mr. Fenwick. The archivist found the documents folded and bundled together at the bottom of a carton that was part of Mr. Fenwick's collection; some of the pieces are so frail, it is a miracle they survived. On March 21, 1861, Peter W. Crain ordered Geo. H. Morgan, in his capacity as trustee for Mary Julian Fowler and her children, to use any available funds to pay the judgments against him as trustee for the family. He was empowered to sell property, if necessary, to obtain the money.
