1 sheet ; 18 1/8"h x 7 1/2"w
This is one of 25 individual pieces found in the courthouse trash by G. Frank Wathen and given by him to J. Allan Coad, who subsequently gave them to Mr. Fenwick. The archivist found the documents folded and bundled together at the bottom of a carton that was part of Mr. Fenwick's collection; some of the pieces are so frail, it is a miracle they survived.
George H. Morgan, in his capacity as trustee for Mary Julian Fowler and her children, reported to the Circuit Court about the actions he has taken on behalf of the family--slaves were sold, land was rented, farm animals and equipment and household equipment was purchased and the residue appears to have been invested in land. The report was tendered and approved on March 20, 1855 and filed by the clerk on May 29, 1855.Collection
