This is one of 25 individual pieces found in the courthouse trash by G. Frank Wathen and given by him to J. Allan Coad, who subsequently gave them to Mr. Fenwick. The archivist found the documents folded and bundled together at the bottom of a carton that was part of Mr. Fenwick's collection; some of the pieces are so frail, it is a miracle they survived.
George H. Morgan, in his capacity as trustee for Mary Julian Fowler and her children, reported to the Circuit Court about the actions he had taken on behalf of the family--rent was paid, labor was hired, expenses were paid, etc. Morgan asked the Court for $290.91. The report was tendered and approved on November 22, 1860 and filed by the clerk on the same day. An affadavit swearing the report was true is part of the document.Collection
