Charles E. Fenwick Collection--Wathen Group--Report of George H. Morgan re Mary Julian FowlerEntry/Object ID
1995.001.1477Scope and Content
1 sheet ; 12"h x 15"w
This is one of 25 individual pieces found in the courthouse trash by G. Frank Wathen and given by him to J. Allan Coad, who subsequently gave them to Mr. Fenwick. The archivist found the documents folded and bundled together at the bottom of a carton that was part of Mr. Fenwick's collection; some of the pieces are so frail, it is a miracle they survived.
George H. Morgan, in his capacity as trustee for Mary Julian Fowler and her children, reported to the Circuit Court about the actions he had taken on behalf of the family--rent was paid, labor was hired, expenses were paid, judgments were paid, etc. Morgan asked the Court for $621.76. The report was sworn to on November 28, 1864 before Zach. S. Tippett and approved by the Judge George Brent on November 29, 1864.Collection
