Description

This is a photo of the first form of 1917. 4 rows of young men are lined up in front of trees. Eight young men form the back row, eight others form the third row, 6 young men are seated in chairs to form the second row, and 5 young men are on the ground as the front row. All the young men are in uniforms reminiscent of World War I with dark jackets with the CHS insignia on the standing collar of the jacket and dark pants and all wear hats, but no gloves. The pants are likely a different color than the jackets. A few of those visible are wearing jodphurs and high leather riding boots, but most have on standard long pants and high button shoes. Only a small number of the young people are identified. In the upper left corner, there is a two story and a half building, with shuttered windows on the first two floors and unshuttered windows in the dormers. The building is a light color and the roof is dark. There are 2 copies of this picture
