Description

2 rows of young men are arrayed on a lawn. 4 young men are seated in chairs to form the back row, and 2 young men are on the ground as the front row. All the young men are in uniforms of World War I vintage with dark jackets with the CHS insignia on the standing collar of the jacket and dark pants and all wear hats, but no gloves. The pants are likely a different color than the jackets. 1 young man is wearing jodphurs and puttees, but the others have on standard long pants and regular high-button shoes. In the upper left corner, there is a two story building, with shuttered windows on both floors. The building is a light color and the roof is dark. To its right is a one story building which is likely attached to the taller building. The one story section has a full-length porch. There is a row of trees in front of the porch. One young man is dimly visible in the upper right, watching the photo session. He is dressed in jodphurs and puttees. Text handwritten on mat: Preps--Scholastic year 1918-19 Class roll Abell, M., Brown, J.H., Cohen, C.H., Freed, L., Ortega, D.T., Warren, P.J., Woodworth, C.W., Wyrick, C.R., White, E.B. This is too many names for the number of boys shown, so we cannot attach names to faces here. There are 3 copies of this photo.
