Black and white 3 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w photo of Christ Church in Chaptico. This view is of the side of the church. The building has a gable roof. The steeple is a large square attached to the center of the front of the building, providing a portico over the front door, but the details are obscured by trees. The church is dark brick, but all trim and window frames are white. There is a small apse on the gable end to the right. On the first floor of the building are five round arch windows. The left most window has fifteen lights and a "fan" above and twelve lights below. The next four windows have leaded glass. There are small screens for each window, but they are at strange angles. There is a screen unit for an entire window lying on its side on the ground. A small chimney pierces the roof near the eave between the third and fourth window. The tapered roof of the apse reaches about halfway up the gable end. There is a window visible in the gable end and what may be three windows in the end of the apse. There are many grave monuments on this side of the building. Text on page: "Christ Church Chaptico King and Queen parish Present church erected 1736"
