1 sheet ; 14 3/42" x 11"
There are three greeting cards pasted on a sheet of heavy black paper that had been in a scrapbook. Sadly, we cannot see what is on the verso of the cards.
The card on the left (3 1/2"h x 5 1/2"w), glued down at an angle, is not complete because someone ripped off the stamp. There was a musical staff on the top for the first few words of the Battle Hymn of the Republic. Below that is a large American flag on a staff and in the right background a group of soldiers storming off to war.
The card on the left top (3"h x 5"w) also had its stamp cut away. There is a pensive young soldier in the lower left corner, a lovely young miss in the upper right corner, and some doggerel in the center.
In the upper right was a similar card (5 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w) at a 90 degree angle. Its stamp was also cut off. In an oval on a black background was a young soldier casting his eyes toward an attractive young lady on the lower left holding a bouquet.
There were two small stickers on the sheet also: one for the YMCA (7/8"h x 3/4"w) and one sporting Old Glory (1"h x 1 1/8"w).Collection
