Cleveland, the horseEntry/Object ID
1995.001.1423Description
Black and white 3 1/2"h x 5"w photo of Cleveland, the Fenwick family horse, hitched to a carriage, presumably in Leonardtown. There are several buildings visible across the street, but nearly all details are obscured by trees and the photo is overexposed. The carriage has its cover tipped back and the seat is visible. The whip is in its stand on the front of the vehicle. Cleveland is light colored and stands straight and tall in his harness. Eleanor Ripple informed me that Cleveland made serious money for the Fenwick family by standing at stud. This same photo is in Mr. Fenwick's "white" album at 1995.001.0739.
