Description

3 1/2"h x 5"w black and white photo of Cleveland, the Fenwick's horse, hitched to an empty buggy and standing patiently on Washington Street. Mr. Fenwick thought the location was in front of a hotel [not Hotel St. Mary's] with a one story store of Simms Fenwick next door. The fully-leafed trees obscured most of the building on the left. Eleanor Ripple said Cleveland was a primary breadwinner in the family by standing at stud several times each year. ******************************************* Text on accompanying sheet: in pencil "Leonardtown 1894 Cleveland is the name of the horse Horse and rig belonged to Aloysius F. Fenwick"
