Description

5"h x 7"w black and white photo of the coal shed at the Point Lookout Light Station, a large gable-roofed industrial building. This view was of the gable end and one long side. The building appeared to be close to the shore. The usual high chainlink fence with barbed wire was on the right. The gable end had a ventilating louver in the peak, a four panel door on the left, and another door on the right. There was a large platform on the left, three courses of concrete block above the ground. The door on the right was partly below ground. There were stairs to each door. At the far corner of the gable end was an oil tank. The long visible roof had three vent stacks in various locations. On the long wall, about two-thirds of the way down was an oversize door. There was a water faucet and hose about a quarter of the way along the wall. There were at least three spotlights under the eaves. The area around the building was paved, except for a small grass patch in front of the gable end. There were grates over drainage troughs. There was on electronics tower of the usual triangular grid rising midway down the roof line.
