5"h x 7"w black and white photo of the coal shed at the Point Lookout Light Station, a large gable-roofed industrial building with clapboard siding. This view was of a gable end and one long side, although the view was nearly filled with a large tower and a square building numbered 2146. The subject building appeared to be close to the shore. The usual high chainlink fence with barbed wire was on the right. The gable end had a ventilating louver in the peak, and a door in the center. There was a large oil drum supported on two substantial concrete walls just behind the building. The long visible roof had a stove pipe not far from the gable end and just below the roof peak. On the long wall, very near the gable end, a wire went from near the top of the wall out to the bottom of the triangular tower. Beyond the subject building was another gable roofed building with vertical clapboards. It appeared to be in poor repair. Between the subject building and the photographer was a large square metal tower with stairs and small platforms for maintenance workers. Next to the tower was a square concrete building with a single door. On the right side of the photo was a dark structure with vertical ribs and a stairway, presumably to a door. The area in the immediate foreground was paved, but there was grass around the buildings.
