This column was written by Tom Cofield, the Outdoor Editor of the Baltimore News-Post. The column is entitled "Bay and Field." Mr. Cofield extolls Mr. Briscoe's efforts to publicize the tourist attractions of St. Mary's County, especially in contrast to the anemic efforts of other Maryland counties. He names Briscoe man of the year in the last sentence. It may be that each department of the paper named a "man of the year."Collection
