Description

3 1/2"h x 5 1/2"w color postcard of the Confederate Memorial Park in Scotland, Maryland. The photographer is standing in the back of the space looking out toward the road. The larger cenotaph is on the left. It has a grass base that slopes up to the support for the tall layered stone. There are metal plaques with names of the deceased inset in the grass. A smaller white cenotaph is on the right. A flagpole is in the middle distance. ************************************ Text on verso: in blue print "Point Lookout Monuments honoring the graves of the Confederate soldiers who died in prison at Point Lookout during the Civil War in Southern Maryland." The card was published by Harry P. Cann & Bro. in Baltimore.
