Scope and Content

14 sheets ; various November 21, 1923 Certification of a vote of the Board of Directors granting Charles V. Hayden, president of the Leonardtown Bank, a credit of $3,000 on his promise to pay with no requirement for collateral. November 22, 1923 Eastern Shore Trust company auditor recognized the above situation, but told Stephen Jones that a like credit for him had to come from the Leonardtown Bank's board. March 31, 1926 Stephen Jones was granted an unsecured note of $1500 and Charles V. Hayden was granted the same privilege for $3,000. January 22, 1927 Mr. Jones line of credit continued. March 7, 1929 George W. Woolford, president of the Eastern Shore Trust company, asked the Leonardtown Bank to postpone action against L. P. Williams because Williams had been helpful to the Company on several occasions. This was on letterhead of the House Education Committee in Annapolis, of which L. P. Williams was chair. March 14, 1929 Mr. Woolford wrote an apologetic note to the Leonardtown Bank, saying he certainly did not want to interfere in the management of the bank's affairs. July 15, 1929 Lawrence P. Williams sent his resignation from the Board of Directors of the Leonardtown Bank, effective immediately. April 24, 1931 Mr. Coad and Mr. Saunders asked that Stephen Jones be relieved of part of his obligation to the bank over the Theodore Dent debacle. May 5, 1931 J. Allan Coad was appointed a vice-president of the Eastern Shore Trust Company, with W.H.B. Wise appointed an Assistant Secretary. This was after Charles V. Hayden declined to serve any longer. May 7, 1931 J. Allan Coad accepted his appointment. May 11, 1931 Mr. Coad notified the parent company that J. G. Nuthall had been added to the Leonardtown Board of Directors. December 8, 1931 Stephen Jones explained how he proposed to settle his part of the Dent bankruptcy case. December 9, 1931 Eastern Shore Trust Company accepted Mr. Jones' plan for the Dent bankruptcy case. December 15, 1931 Mr. Jones sent his effusive thanks.
