4 3/4"h x 6 1/4"w sepia tone photo of the main house at Cremona. The imposing two and a half story building in the Federal style was on a hill overlooking the Patuxent River, seen in the right background. The building appears to be stuccoed, but that may not be correct. The gable roof was dark, with visible seams, and had two inside end chimneys, one on each gable end. The left end of the house appeared to have a window on each side of the chimney stack on the attic story and possibly windows in the same position on the second floor, but it is difficult to tell. One dormer with a round arch roof and a small six-over-six light window was visible on the land side of the roof. Most of the roof was obscured by a very large triangular pediment that formed the port-crochere for the house. The molding of the pediment was very simple. it was supported by four large pillars with square tops and three concentric rings right under the tops. Any decoration at the bottom of the pillars is not visible because of the landscaping. The second floor of the land side had five six-over-six double hung windows with dark shutters and light colored lintels evenly spaced on the wall. The first floor had four such windows with shutters and lintels, two on each side of the center door. The door was outlined with light colored woodwork. It had a three light transom above a dark door. It is not possible to tell if there were lights in the door. A long u-shaped drive brought guests to the protection of the port-crochere. Two large trees were on the lawn in front of the house. Three outbuildings were visible to the left and behind the house. [An editorial aside: this photo is nothing like the photo of Cremona in the "Inventory of Historic Sites"]
