Copy of a Don Swann etching of Cuthbert's Fortune. The image is on very acidic paper and mounted on heavy paper board: 9 1/2"h x 10 7/8"w. The image was in a cheap frame with several informative paragraphs on the back of the frame. That information was photocopied onto permanent paper and is with the piece. The style and topography of each descriptive sheet suggests this image was part of a series. The house had a high steep gable roof with two narrow gable dormers in the visible side. On the wall below the dormers there was a door on the left and two six over six double hung windows in the clapboard wall. The gable end was a large wall. There was a pair of wooden covers that opened out near the roof peak, then on the next floor, between the chimneys, two tall narrow four over four light windows. On this same wall were two large outside end chimneys and a pent with a small window in the center. The left chimney was larger than the right one and had shoulders by the second floor windows. The right chimney was smaller and straight up past the roof. A small outbuilding on the right had one entry door and a fireplace, so it may have been a kitchen.Collection
