Description

4 1/2"h x 3"w with a 13" cord and pencil dance program for the Mid-Winter Hop at Charlotte Hall Military Academy. The cover is pale warm brown with crinkled embossing that looks like wood. There is a drawing of a seated young woman in a ball gown of gray green done by Howard Chandler Christy. The date is in gold at an angle in the lower right corner. In the upper left corner there are small elaborate initials, but they don't look much like CH. The back cover is just the crinkled paper. The gold and black cord runs through the spine, so that the tassel is on top and the pencil hangs down from the program 4". The slim pale gray pencil is 2 7/8" long and has "Elliott Phila." stamped in gold on the barrel. The program was executed by Elliott in Philadelphia. There are eight pages: a cover page (Cadet Captain J. S. Gough was master of ceremonies and Cadet Captain J. A. Garey was his assistant), two pairs of pages for Dances and Engagements, and one pair of pages for Extras and Engagements, and a final page listing committee members. There were no entries in the program.
