Water color by Father Stephen Tushak of De la Brooke Manor in Oraville, Md.. It is a spring scene. De la Brooke is a large light brick home with a brown roof. The main block is enlarged by three additions with connecting hyphens. A round drive brings visitors to the beginning, marked by urns on pedestals, of a broad walk to the main house. A flared stairway leads to a six-paneled door and its full shutters. Two nine by nine double hung shuttered windows are on each side of the door. Above each window and the door are brick arches. There are four dormers visible in this roof line. On the visible end are two windows on the first floor, one window on the second floor, and what may be an attic window above. All but the attic window are surmounted by arches. There is a small porch toward the back of the house for a basement entry door. Other basement windows are visible. An inside end chimney on each end of this block have corbeled caps, as do all the chimneys in the house. All the additions are on the right side of the main block. The first has a parallel roof line, but is not quite as tall. Its entire width has a four bay porch on the front, with three windows visible behind it on the first floor. Two dormers are visible on the roof and there is an inside end chimney on the end opposite the main block. There appears to be a small hyphen, with a dormer, and the next addition begins. Its roof is perpendicular to the first addition and has an inside end chimney at its narrow end. There are two windows on the first floor and two on the second. Another hyphen connects this addition with the third. The roof line of the third addition parallels the second, but its chimney is an outside end type and seems to have a "waist." There are two small windows on either side of the chimney on the first floor only. A dormer is visible in the roof of this addition. All visible shutters on this house are gray. A square outbuilding with a pyramidal roof and one window is just beyond the house. Near it is a six sided building with one window and a domed roof which may or may not serve a purpose. There is a similar structure with an even more elaborate roof at the other end of the house. This is a very grand establishment.
