Dent Family Collection Addendum--Atlanta Convention Bureau photo albumEntry/Object ID
2013.007.0246Description
This is what remains of a mailable photo collection. An accordion set of color photos of Atlanta, Georgia was housed in heavy cardboard that folded in half with an envelope flap. This set was developed by the Atlanta Convention Bureau to showcase their city, but only one two sided photo and the covers remain. The Dents had close ties to Atlanta; the Dents who lived there were distant relatives of the Maryland Dents. Joseph Hugh Dent, a Georgian, married two of John F. Dent's daughters. Both women lived in Atlanta and Newnan for a time during their marriages as Joe Dent tried to succeed in business and land development. J. Marshall Dent tried to be a lawyer there and met and married Ida Wright while an Atlanta resident. Fannie Jo Dent always referred to herself as a "double Dent."Collection
