Photocopy of a document titled "Narrative History of St. Mary's Hospital," with a note in the upper right corner "(Accompanying request for Bed [?] in 1963) There are ten paragraphs on one side of the page. The hospital corporation was organized in 1912. It rented a building in Leonardtown for $10/month. Dr. Carolyn Martin was the Superintendent, Heloise Moore was the nurse. In 1914 a loan was obtained and a building built in 1916. A wing was added in 1931. In 1944, a modern hospital was built with an addition in 1956. The remaining text talked about the increase in local population and the need for more hospital beds. Mrs. Gough appears to have read the history carefully because many passages are underlined.
