Description

4"h X 6"w landscape orientation color photograph of the interior of the Dent Memorial Chapel in Charlotte Hall. A large silvery gray pointed arch piece of limestone? was imbedded in a brick niche on the right. There was a niche on the left, but the photo is too dark to tell what was there. There were large pendant lights down the center aisle. The altar was lighted and its side walls were a deep cream. There was a lectern on each side of the opening and each one had a square tapestry hanging from its front. There was a low dark wooden rail around the altar. The altar was also covered in tapestry. On a slightly lower table, covered in deep red velvet, there was a candle on each side of the altar. There were three leaded glass windows above the altar in the back wall; the center one was the largest. ************************************** Text on verso: in blue stamp ink "OCT 89J" [photos appear to have been taken in the summer]
