The book's pages were numbered in blue. At the top of the page was usually a handwritten date. Usually, several days were on each page, with a handwritten date. The ledger covers were rusted shut, so the sample pages were trimmed out of the ledger.
Column 1: Blank
2: Blank, although occasionally the 1st letter of depositor’s surname
3: Date, handwritten, names of depositors and sometimes numbers
4: Numbers
Each day’s activity was totaled. Some handwriting on these pages was terrible. There were fewer entries in red in these pages.
