1 folder ; 9" x 14 3/4" This folder contains correspondence relative to the care of the county's government records, directions from the local government program at the State Archives, and a large disposition list. It was quite amazing what was burned; things we would give our eye teeth for now. April 11, 1978 Report from Patricia Vanorny, director of the local records program at the State Archives to Mary Bell, clerk of the Circuit Court re records to be sent to the Hall of Records, records to be transferred periodically, destruction lists, and materials that had to be evaluated on a case by case basis, plus a list of whatever the Archives already had June 14, 1978 List of records sent to the Hall of Records from Maryland National Bank March 27, 1979 Barbara Raley, on behalf of the Geneaology Committee of the Society, wrote to the Board of County Commissioners to ask for funds to copy Ben Tippett's survey books and rebind them. She also suggested a display case to be installed when the renovation of the court house was completed. March 27, 1979 Barbara Raley, on behalf of the Geneaology Committee of the Society, wrote to the County Administrator with suggestions about how to manage the county's records sometime in the late 1970s Thirty-seven page list of county records with notes as to their disposition. All the records on the first two pages were burned.
