3 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w black and white photo of Dixon's Purchase on Three Notch Road in Laurel Grove. The house was on a small rise above the road and was subsequently demolished when the road was widened. This closer view showed one long wall and one gable end of the small building. There was a very large chimney with a short stack on the gable end. The chimney stack was designed to be away from the upper half of the gable end, but it was leaning rather precariously by the time of the photo. On the long side the board and batten siding was visible. There were two openings in the wall, one small and one larger, that were probably meant to be windows. Some details were obscured by a tree. All of the vetical boards were ragged at the bottom. The roof may have been tarpaper.
