Description

3 3/8"h x 4 3/4"w black and white photo of a small white story and a half clapboard cottage. This view shows the gable end and additions on the front and back. On the gable end there is either a large louver or a window with Venetian blinds near the roof peak. Either way, there are dark shutters. On the first floor toward the left is a small window with shutters and on the right, a large window with shutters. A screened porch, two bays deep and three bays wide, was inset into the long wall of the cottage. The entry door was on the right and there was a long narrow two light window next to the door. Next to that was a small window with no shutters--it may have been a tiny bedroom. This porch looked out on a long narrow yard hemmed in by a picket fence with its gate fairly close to the house. There was a child's swing in the yard and a large tree. Behind the house was some sort of shed and a barn. The photographer's car was near the fence gate. ********************************** Text on verso: in black ink "Dora Harrison Quade"
